Holiday shopping: Marshfield readers share their 7 go-to stores for gifts
The holidays are upon us and that means it's time to start making those gift lists.
Marshfield-area businesses offer fun and unique presents for everyone in your life. And it's always a bonus when you can check things off your list and support local businesses at the same time. We asked our readers to share their go-to stores for holiday shopping, and these are the local businesses they said they make sure to visit.
Schalow's Nursery
The gift shop at Schalow's Nursery, 8461 Heritage Drive in Marshfield, was one suggestion from readers. The popular local business has a treasure trove of holiday decorations and unique items that would make for great gifts or stocking stuffers.
The shop offers home decor, including seasonal decorations, throw pillows and dishes. Customers can also find bread mixes, Schalow's Nursery marinades and dipping sauces, games, puzzles and much more.
Schalow's Nursery is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays.
Weber's Farm Store
Weber's Farm Store, 9706 Wood County H in Marshfield, offers a wide variety of items for the people in your life who love delicious snacks.
From meats and cheeses to ice cream, maple syrup, jams and salsas, the local store has everything you need. The online store also offers gift boxes.
Weber's Farm Store is open from 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays.
Thimbleberry Books
Thimbleberry Books, 166 S. Central Ave., is a staple in downtown Marshfield. The store is packed to the ceiling with options and is a must-visit for any book lovers on your list.
Customers can find used books and audiobooks in multiple genres. If you're looking for a newer release, you can place an order for it through the store. If you don't know what your family and friends like to read, the store also offers gift cards so they can come in and pick out their favorites.
Thimbleberry Books is open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Hours may be limited in the coming weeks. People can see updated hours on the shop's Facebook page.
Merle Norman
Merle Norman, 249 S. Central Ave. in Marshfield, is the perfect store to visit for women's dress clothes or cosmetics. The store also carries Wisconsin-themed sweatshirts. The shop has an in-house spa that offers massages, facials, hair removal, nail services and makeup services.
You can also purchase a gift card to the store so your friends and family can choose how they'd prefer to treat themselves.
Merle Norman is open from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sundays.
Good Day Sunshine Record Shop
Good Day Sunshine Record Shop, 107 S. Central Ave., was among the suggested shops from Marshfield readers. The shop, named after the song of the same name by The Beatles, offers a collection of classic and current records, as well as record players, store merchandise and more.
Owner Dani Anderson said that the turntables at the shop are usually a big hit with customers. She said she also expects Taylor Swift's new record-breaking album "Midnights" to be a bestseller this holiday season. For anyone on your list who already has a well-established record collection, Anderson recommends record cleaners or slip mats.
The record shop is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, noon to 7 p.m. Thursdays, noon to 6 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
Kailey's Kandles
Kailey's Kandles is a popular local business that has been around since 2018, but it recently opened a storefront downtown at 111 W. Second St., Suite A.
The business sells custom candles and wax melts in a variety of scents. Along with classic scents, customers have come to love the humor that's incorporated into her candles. With names like "Butt Naked," "Great job mom ... I turned out perfect" and "Love you more than ... Tacos," you are sure to get a laugh when you light your candles.
Customers can also find merchandise from other local vendors, including decorative wreaths, accessories for pets, apparel, hand towels and much more.
Kailey's Kandles is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays.
Endless Designs
Endless Designs, 217 S. Central Ave. in Marshfield, offers all matter of home decor and is the perfect place to visit for the interior design lovers or the new homeowners in your life.
The store offers everyday and holiday decorations, everything from wall art and furniture to candles, lamps and mirrors. One item that is typically popular during the holiday season is a battery operated lantern that lights up and/or plays music and depicts a holiday scene.
Endless Designs is open from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays.
