Christmas might be months away, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to get into the spirit. After all, once the gift guides come out, any and all forms of holiday cheer are fair game. You don’t have to wait until it’s socially acceptable to celebrate. Let’s face it: the upcoming holidays are a bust anyway. Screw Halloween! It’s scary and finding a costume is stressful. Thanksgiving? Yawn. All you do is eat dinner at lunchtime, then spend the entirety of your paycheck on Black Friday deals. Christmas, dear reader, is the star of the show.

So go ahead and enjoy a good old-fashioned Christmas movie. Any time of year is appropriate to find that rush you get when you pull out the string lights you used in your college dorm. If you're already hankering for an hour and a half of holiday cheer, look no further than the fledgling streaming service, Max. You'll find the hits. (Serendipity, A Christmas Story.) A wild card. (Batman Returns, yes, is a Christmas movie.) And a couple of surprises.

Here are the best Christmas movies on Max, from us here at Esquire, to you.
