The holidays are over. Where do you dispose of your Christmas tree on Cape Cod?

Ready to get rid of your Christmas tree?

Transfer stations around the Cape and Islands are currently accepting trees stripped of all lights and decorations through the end of January. State and local fire officials advise people to dispose of live trees before they can become a fire hazard.

In the towns that don’t provide tree pickup, Nauset Disposal offers the service for a fee of $15 for customers and $30 for non-customer Cape residents.

Nauset Disposals services are available on Tuesday, Jan. 3 in Harwich, Chatham, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet; and Wednesday, Jan. 4 in Sandwich, Mashpee, Barnstable, Yarmouth and Dennis. Call 508-255-1419 to schedule a pickup time.
