Holland-based Tommy’s opening Fruitport Twp. car wash

FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A new car wash is coming to the Fruitport area.
Crews are working on building a Tommy’s Express location at 1788 E. Sternberg Rd. near Harvey Street in Fruitport Township, the former Golden Corral location. The car wash is set to open in the fall, the company said in a Wednesday release.
Here’s why Holland has so many car washes
It will be the 17th Michigan location for Holland-based Tommy’s Express, which has over 180 locations. The company is set to open between 40 and 50 locations this year and last year had its first groundbreaking in Europe.
“We are excited to continue our growth in our home state of Michigan,” Tommy’s Express company president Ryan Essenburg said in the release.
Tommy’s Car Wash celebrated the grand opening of its new headquarters in Holland last year. During the celebration, Essenburg told News 8 his team is using Holland as a testing ground to see how many locations a community can support.
