Holliday Brewing has launched a second location in Inman to add more food and entertainment to its brewery.

The new Holliday Brewing location is at 12 Prospect St., in Inman. The Drayton location, at 1802 Drayton Road, in Spartanburg remains open.

The new brewery provides a laid-back environment with a total floor space of 9,000 square feet. Customers can choose from among 40 beer taps and have the option to order from a complete dining menu.

Food items include bacon cheese fries with crispy bacon and homemade beer cheese, Dirty Brat with chili and diced onions served on a baguette and the Holliday in Paradise Burger, made with grilled pineapple, melted Swiss and glazed in sweet chili sauce.

Jim Holliday, owner of Holliday Brewing, said the business wanted to show more of what Holliday Brewing has to offer.

"It was either to get out because our Drayton location was too small, we couldn't keep up, we didn't have food, and there wasn't enough space," Holliday said. "We started searching for somewhere with beer event space, [to have] car shows, craft fairs and cook-offs."

Holliday wanted to offer his customers a fun atmosphere at his brewery, while also helping with economic development for the town of Inman.

The brewery will hold its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4. Thirty people have been hired, and the brewery expects to hire about 20 more. There are also plans to create new products, such as vodka-infused seltzers.

"We saw the potential in Inman with the growth in the community," Holliday said. "There's really not a lot here right now, and this location is right next to downtown (Inman). We went ahead and bought the lot and later found out the Saluda Rail Trail will end up on our front doorstep."

The Saluda Grade Trail covers about 30 miles from the Upstate through western North Carolina and is the inactive Saluda Grade railroad. A coalition of Conserving Carolina, Upstate Forever, and PAL (Play, Advocate, Live Well) are working to convert the space into a trail and are purchasing the railroad corridor from Norfolk Southern. The route passes through historic downtowns in Saluda, Tryon, Landrum and Inman.

Holliday Brewing's other adventure with the space is to expand with beer distribution. One of the reasons for their larger taproom is to distribute their beer across the state.

"The plan of this brewhouse is to supply here, Drayton and to sign with distributors to get our beer across the state of South Caroline," Holliday said. "We signed with K&W, Fort Mill, Rock Hill and Budweiser of Spartanburg."

Inman Mayor Cornelius Huff said he's excited to see the town continue to grow with development.

"We have never seen our city be busy and prosperous," Huff said. "The Saluda Grade Trail will be a transformative project for our entire community. Our downtown businesses are excited to see more visitors."
