Holly Willoughby’s fans said they were behind her all the way as she returned to Instagram ahead of her TV comeback.
The presenter stepped down from This Morning in October, after a man was charged in relation to an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her. But this weekend she is set to return to TV screens on Dancing On Ice, which she will be hosting with Stephen Mulhern.
Willoughby’s role on the ice-skating show was in question for some time, with fans unsure whether she would decide to go back. But her return was confirmed in December and she has now taken to Instagram to share a picture of the script for the first episode.

“And so it begins…” the star captioned the post, which was the first on her own account in the weeks since she told fans she was leaving This Morning.
Many of her old colleagues from the ITV show were among those wishing her well as she got ready for the ice-skating competition, with presenter Dermot O’Leary posting a red heart emoji and host Craig Doyle writing: “Go for it.” “Yesss can’t wait,” said Dr Zoe Williams, who regularly appears on This Morning.
Willoughby also got lots of support from her celebrity friends, with actor Tamzin Outhwaite telling her: “You’ve so got this.” “I can’t wait!” said singer Nicole Appleton, adding: “Whoo hoo!!
Viewers said they had missed TV star
Many fans told Willoughby how much they had missed seeing her on television. “So happy that we are seeing you on our screens again,” said one, as another added: “You’ve got this, supporting you all the way.” One admirer predicted that the TV star would be “ace”.
“Good luck,” said someone else. “I have missed seeing you on television and seeing how glam you look. Don’t let the haters get to you, keep smiling. You’re my inspiration x.”
Holly Willoughby used to host with Phillip Schofield
Willoughby had been on This Morning for 14 years but in October the mum-of-three announced on social media that she had made the decision to leave “for me and my family”. “It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go,” she said of the show.
The star had hosted both This Morning and Dancing On Ice with Phillip Schofield, but he stepped away from TV himself last year amid a scandal that saw him admitting to having an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger ITV staff member.
Dancing On Ice returns to ITV on 14 January.
