Update: Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have confirmed who will be replacing them when they take their summer break from This Morning.

And unsurprisingly, it's going to be the familiar faces of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford – although the Friday edition they usually host will be covered by as-yet unannounced presenters.

Speaking on today's (July 12) episode, Phil said: "It's our last show before we go on our summer break... [Holly's] head's already on a lounger somewhere."

Holly went on: "Don't worry, Eamonn and Ruth will be be here to take you right through until September."

We're in safe hands.

Original story: After Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield host Friday's edition of This Morning (July 12), it'll be quite a while before we see them again.

The presenting duo are taking a two-month break from the ITV daytime show – well, seven weeks and two days, to be precise – before returning in the first week of September.

A This Morning spokesperson said on Thursday: "Similar to previous years, it's Phil and Holly's last day presenting This Morning tomorrow before their summer break.

"They will be back presenting the show early September."

ITV hasn't yet confirmed who will be replacing Holly and Phil, but Eamonn Holmes and wife Ruth Langsford are perhaps the most likely since they already host the Friday and weekend editions of the show.

Of course, producers may also decide to chop and change the presenters, given Rochelle Humes and Mark Wright, Rylan Clark-Neal and Eamonn, and John Barrowman and Emily Atack have all hosted in recent months.

It's possibly also a good time for Schofe to go on his summer break, as bosses were recently forced to deny claims that he banned Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden from appearing on This Morning.

Phil and Amanda are supposedly engaged in a 'feud', which began when she allegedly claimed he stood in the way of her getting a co-presenting job on the show while Holly was away.

Still, one star who has Schofe's back is Italian chef Gino D'Acampo, who labelled his This Morning colleague "the king of television" and "how every presenter should present".

This Morning airs weekdays and Sundays on ITV.
