Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield turned up to This Morning hungover after NTAs win

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield presenting This Morning hungover following the National Television Awards has almost become more entertaining than the NTAs themselves (sorry, NTAs producers).

This year it was no different as the two TV hosts turned up to work a little worse for wear after the ITV daytime show won the Best Live Magazine Show category yet again. Admitting they weren't totally on top form following the boozy celebrations, Phil asked: "Do you know what the problem is? Mixing."

"We made a rookie error... schoolboy... we're better than that, Phil," Holly replied.

Revealing what they had been guzzling, Phil said: "Gin and tonic and then Alice Beer’s tequila, which she had in her bag."

Holly then chimed in: "Guys, this is a top tip. Alice Beer had a bag in her bag with pre-salted shot glasses for the tequila that she'd made. It was genius. You are my new hero."

Pre-salted shot glasses? What is this wizardry!

"We’re suffering," Holly admitted. "But it was worth it, it really was."

To help the hangovers, the hosts were treated to a Bloody Mary each when John Torode came in to rustle them up breakfast.

"The day after the NTAs should be an annual national holiday so everyone gets to watch a hungover and spaced out Holly and Phil every year," one This Morning viewer tweeted.

However another pointed out that their hangovers last year were a lot worse, which isn't that surprising considering they were photographed swigging from a hipflask backstage.

"Quite disappointed tuning in this morning, was looking forward to Phil and Holly's hangover but they don't seem bad today. Last years hangover was awesome," a second tweeted.
