This Morning star Holly Willoughby has treated fans to a glimpse of her cameo in Midsomer Murders.

During today's (August 25) episode of the daytime show, stand-in presenters Rochelle Humes and Andi Peters shared a behind-the-scenes preview of Holly filming on set.

In the pre-recorded clip, Holly discussed preparing for her role as Gloria Hunniford aka the 'queen of daytime', revealing that her acting debut didn't quite go to plan.

"I've just shot my first scene and, total transparency, it was a scene which I hadn't actually noticed was in my script," she told the camera. "When I walked in everybody was running their lines and I was like, 'Where is this in here?'"

"Thankfully, it was only a shot of the back of my head, so so far, so good – hopefully!"

Later, after tripping up in another take, the presenter sought advice from Neil Dudgeon, who reassured her there was "no such thing as the perfect line" in acting.

Sharing a shortened version of the clip on Instagram, Holly wrote that she was grateful to the cast and crew for welcoming her on set.

"This truly was a dream come true… Thank you to the whole team at Midsomer Murders for making me so welcome and really looking after me… I loved every second," she said.
