Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Tuesday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Wednesday.

Hollyoaks' Hannah Ashworth has seemingly left the village after making a deal with villain Carter Shepherd.

Hannah made her surprise return to the village last week and has already made an enemy of Carter after threatening to expose his conversion therapy secret.

Last night's (January 22) episode saw Carter attack Hannah and put her in the back of his van but when he returned to check on her, she was gone.

Tonight's episode (January 23) picked up where we left Cater, wondering how Hannah had managed to escape.

After being thankful Hannah was alive, Carter then stopped to pray and ask god to show him the way, before he heard the noise of Hannah on the run and got in his car to drive after her.

Hannah eventually made it back to Nancy and Darren's house where, unfortunately, Carter was waiting for her.

Carter explained to Hannah that he knows she's in financial trouble and promised to make all her problems go away if he could get something from her in return. Hannah immediately told Carter she wouldn't make a deal with him but later she was back home alone, declining calls on her phone.

Not long after Nancy and Darren arrived home there was a loud knock at the door, with Darren answering to find Hannah's mum Suzanne.

Suzanne accused her daughter of running away with her children but Hannah said she took the twins to Darren's because her mum was unable to take care of them. But Suzanne fired back at Hannah, accusing her of having numerous credit card and loan debts.

Later, Darren sat everyone down and explained to Suzanne that he was bonding with the children and would be able to take care of them while she took some time for herself. But when Suzanne refused his offer, Hannah stormed out saying she'd done all she could.

Hannah then met with Carter who showed her a bag of cash and told her it was hers if she left the village and never returned.

Hannah took the money and got into a cab but not before telling Carter: "One day you'll get what you deserve."

As for where Carter got the bag of cash? Well the McQueens are currently missing a few grand that Myra had stored in the back of their kitchen cupboard and, coincidentally, Carter had visited John-Paul earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, Hannah may have run away again but actress Emma Rigby is back on the soap permanently. Earlier this month The Sun reported that Emma, who was only meant to be coming back for a guest stint, has now agreed to a long-term contract with the soap.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
