Hollyoaks has aired the aftermath of the botched bank heist, with two characters exiting the village.

Last night's (June 28) episode saw Grace, Cindy, Zara and Damon's plan end in disaster as they were all arrested, with the former taking the blame for the failed job.

Tonight's (June 29) first-look episode saw Grace continue to say it was a one-woman job, meaning the other three were released from custody.

Relieved at their newfound freedom, the trio believe they have been granted a "new lease of life" and want to commit to a fresh start, with Zara informing Tom that she is going to leave the village immediately.

Her plans will see her move to Borneo and work on a nature reserve, but she has one final favour to ask Tom - for him to help Cindy after she hadn't taken her medication for bipolar disorder.

The trio then reunited at the prison, with Grace making a tearful temporary goodbye to Curtis as she reckoned with her actions.

Damon was the next to announce his plans, informing Sienna that he had booked a one-way ticket to New York City, fulfilling his and Brody's dreams of running a bar in the city. As he walks away, Sienna instructs him to "show those New Yorkers how it's done - for Brody".

Zara then left a tearful voicemail for her late brother Luke, proclaiming that she would always carry his memory with her - no matter where she is. She then leaves a photograph of the pair in the phonebooth before taking in one last view of the scenery.

As Zara and Damon head off for new beginnings, Cindy began to spiral as she cancelled an appointment with the doctor and threw away her medication; how will she cope without her two closest friends?
