Hollyoaks has revealed Leah Barnes' fate after she was accidentally attacked by Liberty Savage.

The teen's life was left hanging in the balance earlier this week when Liberty accidentally whacked her with a log while trying to escape Summer Ranger's prison cell.

Wednesday's (July 21) first-look episode saw Summer trying to take advantage of the situation when she claimed Liberty had killed Leah.

Summer essentially blackmailed Liberty into returning to her storeroom-turned-cell by promising to bring Faith to her.

"You deserve to be the one who raises Faith, and I can be the one to make that happen," Summer insisted.

Liberty relented, allowing Summer to continue her revenge against Brody by leading Sienna to the note she'd forced Liberty to write petitioning for custody of Faith.

With the investigation heating up, Damon admitted to Brody that his best chance would be to run away from Hollyoaks before the police could formally arrest him for Liberty's 'murder'.

Meanwhile, Summer had left Leah lifeless in the forest. The teen may have died if not for Tom and Yazz stumbling across her while on a romantic date.

The duo were able to alert authorities, and also let worried Sid and Ste know they had found Leah. At the hospital later on, Misbah revealed the news that Leah had stabilised with a minor concussion.

Leah had also revealed she'd actually been attacked, but insisted she didn't remember anything about who'd knocked her out with the log.

Sid angrily vented his frustrations towards Leah's dance teacher Trish Minniver, seeing as she'd shooed her student off into the woods to distract her from the troupe's all-important competition.

Sid accused Trish of putting "so much pressure" on Leah that she'd fractured her ankle before the attack, so she turned the tables by insisting Sid was to blame for not informing her of the injury.

Trish may have escaped the blame for now, but her lies will catch up with her later this week…

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
