Luke Morgan has received life-changing news in Hollyoaks.

The character has been going through a hugely tumultuous time, having learned he is the biological father of baby DJ following months of suspicion.

This revelation set him off on a bender that climaxed with him drunkenly climbing into a crane and setting off a disastrous chain of events for stunt week. He was most recently decked by Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) in a row over DJ's future.

In Tuesday's (November 19) episode, Darren was ordered to finally put his differences with Luke (Gary Lucy) aside once and for all by Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) while taking Luke to get himself checked out by a doctor.

After arguing over their past at the hospital, the two finally had a breakthrough when they agreed to put DJ before their own disagreements.

"I'm sorry for all the things I said," Luke finally told his old friend.

At the same time, Darren and Mandy were each urging Luke and Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) respectively not to run away from their romantic feelings for one another.

Just when it looked like Cindy was willing to give Luke a second chance, she received an alarming phone call about the aftermath of the crane disaster.

Cindy was told that she'd have to pay for all the damage caused by the crash. Suddenly feeling less romantic, Cindy decided she'd demand Luke pay for all of the damage!

Unfortunately for Luke, the results of his CT scan were in and he was told he'd developed some significant shrinkage in the front of his brain because of a preexisting condition.

"Am I going to die?" he desperately asked, with the doctor hesitantly admitting: "We'll know more after some tests."

What could this diagnosis mean for Luke's long-term future?

Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
