Luke Morgan has made a shock marriage proposal in Hollyoaks following his health crisis.

Earlier this week, Luke was diagnosed with shrinkage in the front of the brain due to a preexisting condition, though the full extent of the severity isn't yet known.

Wednesday's (November 20) first-look episode opened with Luke being bombarded by Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) with demands to pay the £50,000 in damage caused by the crane disaster.

A desperate Luke turned to Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) for some financial help, yet Tom refused to get involved because he'd been burned in the past by Cindy.

Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) intervened at that point to get his friend thinking straight, urging him to get to the hospital for his consultation before dealing with Cindy's financial woes.

Luke seemingly took his best mate's advice by heading to the hospital, only to bolt before the appointment with his doctor because he was too scared to face the reality of his condition.

Cindy later found him on the boat sulking, but sensing it was more than the money troubling him, she started teasing him with some flirty banter.

Before long, the passion between Cindy and Luke was again ignited when they tumbled into bed together. Apparently, the £50,000 would have to wait!

Luke later planned a grand romantic gesture as he called together Mandy and Darren for a mystery celebration. When Cindy arrived, he stunned her by proposing marriage — and she accepted!

While the couple celebrated the happy news, Darren was worried that Luke had decided to blow off his appointment at the hospital. Can he get through to his old friend?

Also in Wednesday's episode, Luke's son Ollie (Aedan Duckworth) was feeling left out when girlfriend Brooke Hathaway (Talia Grant) chose Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) over him to accompany her to her next scan.

Sienna sensed trouble brewing. After tracking down her student later in the day, she was stunned when an emotional Ollie admitted he wanted to keep his and Brooke's child after all!

Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
