Hollyoaks' Mandy Richardson to propose to Darren in cover-up storyline

Hollyoaks is lining up a surprise proposal scene for Mandy Richardson and Darren Osborne, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.
Mandy will pop the question to Darren next week, but her ulterior motives could spell trouble for the future of their relationship.
Viewers know that Mandy is currently hiding a huge secret, as her young daughter Ella killed drug dealer Jordan Price at New Year. Charlie Dean took the blame for the incident and was locked up after his false confession.

In upcoming scenes, Mandy's desire to bury the truth is strengthened further and she attempts to solidify her existing family bond with Darren and Ella.
Mandy is also feeling insecure over Darren's closeness to his ex-wife Nancy, as they continue to work together on Charlie's legal case.
With Mandy's proposal coming as part of her cover-up, could her relationship with Darren be doomed in the long-run even if he says yes?

Sarah Jayne Dunn, who plays Mandy, exclusively told Digital Spy: "She wants to hold on to her relationship with Darren, so the proposal comes out of desperation. Mandy is doing everything impulsively and has no other choice."
