Hollyoaks mix-up could see Maxine's lies exposed
Hollyoaks' Maxine Minniver could finally be exposed later this month as the net finally starts to close in on her.
The Channel 4 soap's action-packed autumn trailer has confirmed that Maxine's lies will unravel over the coming weeks, as her husband Damon stands trial for fraud.
Not only will James Nightingale start to unravel Maxine's tangled web, but another big mix-up will later threaten to expose the truth once and for all.
With Damon currently facing a bleak future, Maxine ups the ante and tells him she only has a few weeks to live – hoping it'll encourage his lawyer James to waive the legal fees.
When James refuses, a devastated Damon is left with no other option and decides to sell his half of The Love Boat in order to raise the money.
As Maxine continues to string Damon along, Sienna is furious when she discovers her latest lie and refuses to help her anymore.
Unfortunately for Maxine, Sienna's rejection soon becomes the least of her worries when James starts to suspect she's not telling the full story.
James is concerned when he can't get hold of Dr Levi for Maxine's medical records and also reaches a dead end with Misbah. As James grows increasingly suspicious of Maxine, he decides to do some digging at the hospital – much to her horror.
Determined to stop him in his tracks, Maxine manages to speak to Mitchell before James arrives at the hospital – unaware he's already spotted her.
Adamant that there is something suspicious going on here, James comes up with an idea after learning that Maxine's file is in Mitchell’s bag.
Later, James gatecrashes Mitchell's drinks with Scott at The Dog in the hope that he can sneak a glimpse at the records, but fans will have to wait and see if he manages to or not.
Either way, Maxine's lies will fall under even more threat later on when an unfortunate mix-up leaves her records in the wrong hands.
When Scott and Mitchell accidentally switch bags after their drink together, Scott ends up with Maxine’s medical records. Will he tell Damon what he's found out?
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
