Hollyoaks' Shaq gets family support over Fergus threat

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Shaq Qureshi is getting some new support within his family following threats from Fergus Collins in Hollyoaks.

Earlier this week, Fergus and Warren tricked Shaq into signing an employment contract with them and then made him think that he'd lost a valuable piece of jewellery on the job.

In Thursday's (May 6) first-look episode on E4, Shaq came clean to his family about what's been happening and asked for help, but cousin Sami admitted the contract he'd signed was air-tight.

Scheming Fergus turned up with an offer to avoid going to police over the supposed £200K debt — warning the Maaliks that their only option was to sign over their house in a buy-for-rent scheme.

Sami, Yazz and Imran were dead-set against handing over the house to clear Shaq's debt, with a conflicted Misbah ultimately agreeing that he'd have to settle the financial burden himself.

Later, at the cafe, Misbah approached Shaq to make it clear that while she couldn't financially bail him out, she'd absolutely help him find a way to solve his financial problems.

"Sami wants what's best for us, all of us. But I don't think leaving you to fight this on your own is the right thing to do," Misbah assured him.

Shaq then promised: "I'll raise that cash. I'll do whatever it takes."

When Shaq admitted he didn't know how to even start a job search, Misbah promised she'd come up with some helpful ideas. Will Shaq's family support help him through this rough patch?

Meanwhile, Fergus faced his own crisis when his former employee Katja returned with threats to go to police over the CCTV he'd illegally installed in Peri Lomax's bedroom.

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
