Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) is set to go through more heartache as he runs away from home in upcoming episodes of Hollyoaks.

The troubled teen has been feeling increasingly left out by the Osborne family, and his world is rocked when he is reinstated in school and receives the news that his aunt and legal guardian Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) has convinced the doctor in America to do baby Morgan's heart surgery.

Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) tries to cheer up both of his boys by taking Oscar Osborne (Noah Holdsworth) out to buy Charlie a gift. Back at home, Brooke Hathaway (Tylan Grant) reminds the youngster that in order to solve the issues he has with his family, he must also listen.

However, when he receives a text from Darren saying he'll be late, his upset and anger builds up again as he's left feeling second best. When Darren comes home with some new drumsticks for Charlie, the gift is received with a cold shoulder when a family tree drawn by Oscar leaves him feeling alone.

Darren is left worried that he might lose Charlie when he goes on the run to find his biological father, receiving some advice from his own father Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna).

John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) is approached by a troubled Charlie, who asks for information on the man who abandoned him and explains his desire to feel wanted. John Paul reminds him that, although Darren isn't his dad biologically, he'll still be the one that'll be sat up worried about him.

When Darren doesn't go along with Leah Barnes' (Elá-May Melek Demircan) idea of recording a video to go on social media asking Charlie to return home, she uses her initiative and secretly films him as he talks about how much he misses the runaway.

Charlie's biological father is Justin Burton (Chris Fountain), who as a teen had an affair with his teacher Becca Dean (Ali Bastian) resulting in Charlie's birth.

Becca went to prison as a result of the affair and was murdered by her cellmate Fran Hathaway. Justin then left the village and went on the run after taking the blame for the fire at the Loft, leaving Nancy and Darren as Charlie's legal guardians.

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
