Hollyoaks updates fans on filming as the show's set gets covered in snow

Snow has arrived in the Hollyoaks village – and the soap has shared an update from the set for fans.

Although Hollyoaks has recently been rocked by a deadly crash involving Ste, his daughter Leah, and Ella, the cast are busy filming episodes set to air in Spring 2024.

While there's been snow in Liverpool, where the show is filmed, it hasn't had too much of an impact on filming schedules, with plans already made to shoot scenes inside due to the weather.

However, the cast of the long-running soap can be seen enjoying the snow in these new photos – showing that the dramatic storylines on the show don't keep the actors from being close friends.

The cast have recently been involved in many dramatic storylines, including Mercedes McQueen's infidelity – she has been cheating on Felix Westwood with Warren Fox (played by Jamie Lomas).

But Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes, showed that she and Lomas are friends in real life as they joined each other for photos in the snow.

Metcalfe also made snowballs and drew a heart on a snow-covered table during the photoshoot.

Elsewhere, Haiesha Mistry (who plays Yazz) and Ellis Hollins (who plays Tom) posed for photos together, with Ellis lifting Haiesha up – a world away from their characters' marriage difficulties.

Kirsty Leigh Porter and Ruby O’Donnell, who play Leela and Peri Lomax, wrapped up warm together, while Jamelia, who plays Sharon Bailey, took a winter stroll around the park set.

Meanwhile, Ashley Taylor Dawson, who plays Darren Osborne had fun with the snow on the Chester walls – and new cast member Iz Hesketh (who plays Kitty) joined the photoshoot, too, throwing snow into the air.

Numerous Hollyoaks characters recently had their worlds turned upside down in an hour-long special involving a deadly car crash.

At the centre of the conflict was Kieron Richardson's Ste, who was racing to get his daughter Leah Barnes to hospital when he unknowingly knocked Ella over and she died at the scene.

Elsewhere, in tonight's E4 episode, Sienna makes a shocking Dilly discovery and in tonight's Channel 4 streaming premiere, Felix is questioned by the police over the crash.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
