‘Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee confessed how he got a black eye while partying with Rihanna in the French Riviera (Exclusive)

The stars shined at the 2023 BET Awards, but “Hollywood Unlocked” mastermind Jason Lee showed up with a shiner.

We caught up with Lee on the pink carpet where he showed up sporting a gray denim tracksuit, silver chain and shades. Shades for sun protection? Nope, the matching gray specs were covering an injury.

Let me explain. On a recent trip to the French Riviera, the media maven encountered more than just baguettes and cheese upon his arrival.

“So I got in a fight,” he exclusively shared with NY Daily News. “I have a black eye. I got makeup, glasses and everything.”

The entrepreneur went on to explain that the brawl happened: “in the streets!”

“The next day, I hung out with Rihanna. She comes and I’m like ‘Girl, I got a black eye,’ and I had to tell her.”

Well, he definitely came to run this town tonight.

Glaring at his publicist standing nearby — who looked less than thrilled about him sharing the shocking story — Lee declared “No, I have to tell this story because this is me being honest, right?”

He went on to note his reason for being transparent with RiRi about what took place.

“I thought to myself, am I going to say I fell down the steps, because if I think about it, 70% of my audience are women who find themselves in domestic violence situations and make up lies to cover up bruises.”

“I said, ‘no I got in a fight.’ I’m not always perfect.”

Lee first met the Barbadian superstar at New York Fashion Week in 2019, which is where their budding friendship began.
