Holmes Center for the Arts receives grant

The Holmes Center for the Arts has been approved for a $10,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support HCA's first ever summer Art Under the Stars Series.

The project will feature two outdoor summer performances to Berlin Park in Holmes County, "Dancing Under the Stars" on June 17 and 18 and "Theatre Under the Stars" on July 8 and 9.

The Holmes Center for the Arts' project is among 1,248 projects across America totaling $28,840,000 that were selected to receive this first round of fiscal year 2022 funding in the grants for arts projects category.

Artists will choreograph three different short story pieces that tell children's stories through dance for "Dancing Under the Stars." Auditions for performers are open to area dancers and will be held March 12.

HCA will collaborate with the Holmes County Library for pre-show, family activities.
