Here is a list of April events at the Holmes County District Public Library. Call the library at 330-674-5972 for more information or to register.

Writing Contest: Share original poetry, comics or short stories, with or without illustrations, by entering the Holmes County District Public Library's Writing Contest. Prizes will be awarded to the top entry in each category. April Craft Kit for Teens: Central Library and East Branch; pick up a craft kit to create Geode Easter Eggs.

Easter Egg Hunt, Central Library, 11 a.m. Saturday; ages 2-12 will hunt eggs for prizes and create a craft. Children must be with an adult. Registration is required.

Storytime: East Branch, 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, April 5, 12, 19 and 26; ages 2-5, with an adult, are invited for stories, rhymes and songs.

Storytime: Central Library, 10:30 a.m. Fridays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28; ages 2-5, with an adult, are invited to join us stories, rhymes and songs.

Little Learners Playgroup, Central Library, 11 a.m.-noon Fridays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28; kids up to age 5, with an adult, will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills. Snacks provided.

Paws to Read: Central Library, 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 8. Kids are invited to read to a licensed therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.

STEAMKids Club, Central Library, 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 11; ages 8-14 will explore science, technology, engineering, art and math by creating parachutes for Easter Peeps. Registration required.

Eating on the go! With Kate: 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, Central Library; Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension Services Educator, will share ideas for fast, easy and healthy meals and snacks. Registration required.

LEGO Building Night: Central Library, 5:30-6:45 p.m. Monday, April 24; ages 6-12 are invited for LEGO building fun.

Book Discussion for Adults: 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, Central Library; discussing The Christie Affair" by Nina de Gramont; 6 p.m., Jitters Coffee House, discussing “The Family Across the Street” by Nicole Trope. Books are available to borrow at the Central Library.
