WORCESTER — The four-time defending Patriot League champion Holy Cross football team announced its 11-game 2023 schedule Tuesday, and the Crusaders, who will be in pursuit of their fifth straight Football Championship Subdivision playoff berth, open the season at home against Merrimack Sept. 2.

HC’s nonconference slate includes games at two Football Bowl Subdivision opponents, Boston College Sept. 9 and Army Nov. 11, and against Harvard in the third annual EBW Classic Sept. 30 at Polar Park.

In addition to the opener, Holy Cross will play three more games at Fitton Field, including its Patriot League opener against Colgate Sept. 23.

HC also faces PL foes Lafayette (Oct. 21) and Georgetown (Nov. 18) at home.

A Sept. 16 game at Yale rounds out HC’s nonconference schedule.

The Crusaders are coming off a historic 2022 season during which they set a program record for wins, going 12-1, advancing to the FCS quarterfinals, and finishing with a No. 6 national ranking.
