Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away star Sophie Dillman has voiced her support for Ziggy Astoni's new romance storyline with Tane Parata.

Next week, UK viewers will see Ziggy and Tane give into temptation after Justin Morgan compares their relationship to Ziggy's past relationship with Dean Thompson. While Ziggy and Tane initially reject the idea that they have feelings for each other, they end up in the bedroom.

"I think the timing is right for Ziggy and Tane," said Sophie, who plays Ziggy. "They both give each other what they need at the right time. They both want to have some really innocent, fun, and mature conversations, and no drama!

"She is due some happy times, isn't she! Hasn't she cried enough?!"

When asked what makes Ziggy finally admit her feelings for Tane, Sophie commented: "The attraction, the want to be loved, her need to feel less alone, her spontaneous nature – and maybe a little dutch courage, also!"

Of course, late last year Ziggy broke up with Dean after she learned the truth about his involvement in the cover-up of Ross Nixon's murder.

Dean still wants Ziggy back, and was recently seen on UK screens drunkenly begging for her to reconsider their future.

"Honestly, I'm not sure if Ziggy is ready to forgive Dean," Sophie said. "After what happened during her marriage with Brody, when he cheated on her with Simone, Ziggy has had a really hard time trusting people.

"I do think that after all the drama last year, Ziggy deserves to have some harmless fun and some drama-free fun for a little while."

When asked about her other hopes for Ziggy this year, she added: "I think Ziggy really deserves to let off a little steam and enjoy herself.

"She's been working so hard in the garage, and with the breakup, she hasn't had a lot of time to do the things she loves like surf and hang out with her mates."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).
