Home & Garden show starts Friday

Sep. 15—Does your home need some improvements but you don't know where to start?

The Aiken Standard will hold its Fall Home & Garden Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center, 1700 Whiskey Road.

"The Fall Home & Garden Show is an event that allows vendors to display their products and services to over 1,000 shoppers over a two-day event," said Diane Daniell, the advertising sales manager for the Aiken Standard. "Attendees will come through and speak to vendors for their home improvement needs."

The show is being presented by sponsor Budget Blinds, and there are over 43 vendors currently signed up, Daniell said.

Exhibitors include Brighter Solutions, Paradise Home Improvement, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen, Leaf Filters, Budget Blinds, Rite Price Roofing, Hixon's Roofing, Southern Industries, Decorative Concrete, Bath Fitter, Cutco Cutlery, Certa Pro Painters, DependaCoat, Absolute Green Insulation, Quality Life Solutions, Rainbow Over the CSRA, Fish Window, Bartlet Tree, Armour Roofing, Victory Baptist Church, Build on Your Land LLC, ReMax Tattersall and Atomic Heating & Air.

Home Grown Vendors include Allie's Buttons & Bows, Little Things of Wood, Marti Healy Books, Clean Up Aiken!, Erica's Delights, V-Style Handbags, Mary Kay-Delores Martin, Park Lane Jewelry-Carolyn Kimball, Aiken Master Gardener Association, Tupperware/Shirley Pinkston Rainbow, Ms. Bea's Pickling Vegetable, Pampered Chef, Color Street-Marie Swygert, Aiken CBD, John Hutson, Little Bit of Hobby Farm & Crafts, Complete Care Solutions, Baker's Mann Sweet n' Savory, Council of Aiken Garden Clubs, Whatnot Warehouse, Town Creek Boutique, Mary Ellen's Art & Wreaths and Sweet Cream Treats.

"People should come out to see what Aiken has to offer in products and services," she said.

This year's show features many new vendors, especially food vendors, Daniell said.

"Mack's Poppin Kettle Korn has been a huge hit in the past. People walk out with buckets of popcorn," she said.

Food truck vendors will be on site for the first time at this year's show, Daniell said.

Food vendors include Mack's Poppin' Kettle Korn, Palmetto Bowls, Ice Cream Island and Lobster Dog.

"Our Fall Home and Garden Show is place to come for your homes style right here in your hometown," said Hannah Brown, advertising account executive with Aiken Standard.

Admission to the show is $1 for age 12 and older, and 100% of the admission fees collected will be donated to Clean Up Aiken!
