Zachery Ty Bryan, a former child star on '90s hit show Home Improvement, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges in his domestic violence case.

Bryan, who played Tim Allen's son Brad on the ABC sitcom, entered the plea Tuesday to charges of menacing and assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence, Lane County District Attorney Patricia W. Perlow in Eugene, Ore., tells Yahoo Entertainment.

"Both of those charges are class A misdemeanors," Perlow says. Bryan was sentenced to 36 months of probation with multiple conditions, including partaking in a batterer intervention program (called Bridges2Safety). He must also have "no contact with the victim."

Bryan, who was accused of strangling a woman in the October incident, avoided six other charges, including harassment, coercion, strangulation, interference with making a report and second counts of menacing and assault in the fourth degree.

"While Mr. Bryan was charged with additional crimes, including two class C felonies, it is in the interest of closure for the victim and in recognition of the backlog of cases we have due to COVID restrictions that make me believe this resolution is in the interest of justice," Perlow says.

Yahoo Entertainment has reached out to Bryan through his production company for further comment.

On October 16 — just two weeks after announcing his separation from his wife of 13 years, Carly Bryan — Eugene Police were called to an Oregon home at 10 p.m. by Bryan's neighbor. Officers found the actor/producer sitting outside an apartment while the victim, identified as a 27-year-old female who was in a relationship with Bryan, inside another apartment.

"An investigation found that during the dispute Bryan is reported to have assaulted the victim, impeded her breathing, and taken the victim's phone from her when she tried to call 911," a police spokesperson said in a statement a the time.

Bryan was booked into Lane County Jail on Oct. 17 at about 1 a.m.

Bryan— who has since deactivated his social media accounts — shares four children with his estranged wife: Gemma, Taylor, Jordana and Pierce.
