Home Sweet Home - Greenville Home & Garden Show

Spring in the Upstate might come and go as quickly as you can say “remodel.”

So, if you’re ready for a spring refresh to your yard or home – or a completely new home – it’s a good time to head to the 64th annual Southern Home & Garden Show in Greenville.

Taylor Lyles, CEO of the HBA, says the Southern Home & Garden show features builders, remodelers and landscapers, plus pools, home design trends, appliances, technology, demonstrations and more.
Taylor Lyles, CEO of the HBA, says the Southern Home & Garden show features builders, remodelers and landscapers, plus pools, home design trends, appliances, technology, demonstrations and more.

“The show brings together builders, remodelers, designers and demonstrations so that the consumer can see new trends, new opportunities, new technology, new products and new options that are available to them,” says Taylor Lyles, Chief Executive Officer of the Homebuilders Association of Greenville.

“We're excited to continue offering the Southern Home & Garden Show to our community. This year’s show is truly shaping up to be one of our best.”

The show, Feb. 23 through 25 at the Greenville Convention Center, is produced by the Homebuilders Association of Greenville and presented by Jeff Lynch Appliances, Electronics, Bedding and Furniture.

Consumers will find inspiration and products for every need – or wish list.

Lyles is expecting up to 340 exhibitors this year. “We’ve got thousands of square feet of quality vendors including more builders and more remodelers than ever.”

He anticipates that 15,000 patrons will attend.

“The show has something for everyone. We've got a little bit of everything – in every price range,” he says. “From top to bottom, from side to side, inside and outside – everything you need for your house will be on that exhibit hall floor.”

The Southern Home & Garden Show is the largest in South Carolina, Lyles says.

Vendors will provide inspiration and information for people who want to build a home, remodel a kitchen or bath, or update their outdoor living space.

Exhibits feature landscapers and horticulturists; lawn and garden equipment; decking and siding; pools and spas; interior designers; paint, tile, fixture, flooring and furniture trends; windows and window treatments; home entertainment; appliances, automation, smart technology, security systems and more.

Lyles says he is also enthusiastic about two new exhibits this year: the “Kids Make and Take,” offered by Golden Strip Career Center, and the Farmer’s Market.

High school students from the Golden Strip Career Center, a program of Greenville County Schools that provides job-driven curriculum, will be available all day on Saturday, Feb. 24, to help children build birdhouses, toolboxes and other projects.

The Farmer’s Market, making its debut at the Southern Home & Garden Show, features 26 local vendors selling fresh produce, flowers, baked goods and original crafts.

Fan favorites like the Man Cave, the Landscape Corner and the DIY Stage are also returning.

“The DIY Stage will be a real consumer benefit,” Lyles says. “We've got seminars on everything from raised garden beds to insulation to design techniques. We have a designer panel, roofing specialists and arborists.”

At the Southern Kitchen Stage & More, restaurants and culinary experts will cook their favorite dishes and demonstrate how to make pizzas, decorate cakes and even create flower arrangements. Afterward, visitors can sample the food and talk to the chefs.

Guests can vote for their favorite design at the 2024 Designer Showcase. Mariana Gardner, Jason Morse-Wilmoth and Asia Clark each collaborated with Design Resource Gallery and Art & Light Gallery on a booth. The winner will be featured at the Homebuilders Association Bridge Awards and in TALK Greenville magazine.

The show is not just a place to buy or see something new. “It’s a great place to set up an appointment or get a business card from somebody who can do your job,” Lyles says.

In addition to Jeff Lynch TV and Appliance Center, sponsors of the Home & Garden Show are Cedar Ridge Landscaping, Central Electrical Services, Spectrum and MD Roofing.

The Homebuilders Association of Greenville is continuing to grow as a resource for the community all year long, says Lyles, a seventh-generation Greenville native.

“We are a consumer asset, your go-to guide for anything you need,” Lyles says. “The Homebuilders Association is here anytime to help you get connected with vetted, qualified professionals to finish your dream project or finish one of your repairs.”

The association has an Approved Professional Builder program and will be launching an Approved Professional Remodeler program.

“Skip the computer search and call the HBA for a recommended, vetted professional, in all price ranges, who can tackle any job. If you need a plumber, we have plumbers. We've got electricians. We’ve got remodelers. We've got framers and roofing contractors. We’ve got people who install gutters, siding, windows and doors. We’ve got it all,” Lyles says.

“We want to make sure that consumers get quality contractors. We don't want somebody to come into your home, quote you a high price, require a deposit, and then skip town. If you get a builder from the HBA of Greenville, they will do exactly what they say they’re going to do.”

Lyles has been with the Homebuilders Association of Greenville for five years. Drew Hamblen of Fairview Custom Homes LLC is President of the HBA, which has 700 members and presents 63 events throughout the year, including the Home & Garden Show.

Builders, residential developers, remodelers, real estate partners and tradespeople join the organization for its advocacy, consumer leads, networking and professional development seminars, Lyles says.

The 64th annual Southern Home & Garden Show will have 340 exhibits. And 15,000 people are expected to attend.

“We're here to meet our members exactly where they need to be met. We are excited to create an association that truly supports its members and truly supports its community.

“The HBA looks forward to showing people the talented remodelers, contractors – everyone and everything we have to present at the Southern Home & Garden Show.”
