Home is a total loss after fire in Emerado, North Dakota

Jan. 1—EMERADO — A home was a total loss but there were no serious injuries after a fire Saturday evening, Dec. 31, in Emerado.

The call came shortly after 10:30 p.m., according to a release from the Emerado Fire Department. The fire was in the Acks Mobile Home Park in Emerado.

The department responded with two engines, two water tenders and a rescue unit. Upon arrival, a mobile home was discovered to be fully engulfed in flames. Neighboring homes were evacuated for safety reasons.

According to the department's media release, the home was occupied at the start of the fire, and all occupants were able to escape without injury. One firefighter was treated on scene for a minor injury but was able to return to duty.

At present, the cause of the fire is not known and the investigation continues. The home was a total loss.

The Emerado Fire Department was assisted by the Grand Forks AFB Fire Department, Emerado Police Department, the Grand Forks Sheriff's Office, Grand Forks AFB 319th Medical Group Ambulance and Altru Ambulance.
