Homecoming celebrations are coming up fast in Livingston County

The school year is well underway, and five school districts in Livingston County will soon celebrate homecoming.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY — The school year is well underway, and five school districts in Livingston County will soon celebrate homecoming.

Howell Public Schools will celebrate first. The district's spirit week began Monday. The festivities will conclude with the homecoming dance on Saturday. The district's annual homecoming parade will run west down Grand River Avenue from 5-5:30 p.m. Friday, from National Street to Center Street.

Two hours later, the Highlanders will take on the Northville High School Mustangs at the HHS Memorial Stadium.

Next week, three more districts will celebrate homecoming, including Fowlerville Community Schools, Hartland Consolidated Schools and Pinckney Community Schools.

Pinckney High School will host a parade and football game Friday, Sept. 29. The parade begins at 4:30 p.m. and runs from People's Church through downtown to Pinckney High School. Parking at the high school is highly recommended.

Two and a half hours later, the Pirates will take on the Ypsilanti Grizzlies. The district's homecoming dance begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30.

Hartland High's spirit week runs Monday-Friday, Sept. 25-29. There'll be a homecoming pep assembly Friday, followed by a 5 p.m. parade and a 7 p.m. football game, when the Eagles will play the Highlanders. The district's homecoming dance begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30.

Fowlerville High, meanwhile, will host a parade at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29. Participants will start on campus and travel down Hibbard, Grand River Avenue, Fowlerville Road and Addison Street.

Two hours later, the Fowlerville Gladiators will take on the Haslett Vikings at Brigham Stadium. The district's homecoming dance begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30.

Brighton is the last district in Livingston County to celebrate, kicking off homecoming week Monday, Oct. 9. The district will hold its second annual alumni presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the BHS Steam Center. This year, Colonel Karin Flood M.D. (1988) and Coach Bruce Ritter (1971) will be honored.

The district's homecoming parade will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13. An hour later, the Bulldogs will take on the Howell Highlanders. The homecoming dance begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.
