Homee and Immertec top Tampa's recent funding news

Tampa-based information technology company Homee has secured $15 million in Series B funding, according to company database Crunchbase, topping the city’s recent funding headlines. The cash infusion was announced Aug. 27 and led by Forté Ventures.

According to its Crunchbase profile, "Homee is an on-demand property maintenance service that provides customers with instant access to electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians and handymen from the convenience of their smart phones. The Homee app allows users to find GPS-located service providers and request immediate service."

The three-year-old startup has raised two previous funding rounds, including a $11 million Series A round in 2018.

Over the past year, five Tampa-based apps companies have secured venture funding, totaling $16 million in new investment to the local industry.

In other local funding news, internet company Immertec announced a funding round on Sept. 24, financed by PAR.

According to Crunchbase, "Immertec is a virtual reality platform for medical device companies to train their physician customers in real-time. It allows multiple physicians to connect remotely to an operating room and collaborate. Users are able to customize their view, talk to other physicians on the stream, and communicate directly with the teaching physician."

Founded in 2017, the company has raised two previous rounds, including a $680,000 round in 2018.
