Homers, strikeouts and steals: Vote for IHSAA baseball players of the week (April 10-15)

Congrats to Logan Marsell of McCutheon for winning player of the week for Week 2. The junior went 9-for-14 (.643) with one home run, 11 RBIs and eight stolen bases over five games. Marsell added 2⅔ scoreless innings in relief.

Here are this past week's top performers:

Kenny Bruntlett, Carmel

Bruntlett powered Carmel to an 11-10 comeback win over Noblesville in extra innings. The senior went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and six RBIs. For the week, Bruntlett batted .272 with three runs scored, one double, one home run, six RBIs and two stolen bases.

Hogan Denny, Mooresville

The IU commit found his power last week for the Pioneers. Denny went 6-for-9 (.667) with nine RBIs, five runs scored, one double, three home runs and two stolen bases. The junior struck out the side for a clean inning against Covenant Christian.

Cole Earlewine, Hamilton Southeastern

The Ball State football commit can cover deep passes on the gridiron and deliver long bombs on the diamond. Earlewine went 4-for-13 (.307) with four runs scored, seven RBIs and three home runs.

Logan Gibbs, Cascade

Gibbs had two dominant games against Lutheran. The junior went 4-for-5 with three runs scored, six RBIs and three home runs.

Seth Hogg, University

In three appearances on the mound, Hogg allowed just one run over 8⅓ innings (0.86 ERA) with 10 strikeouts and two hits allowed. Hogg earned a win against Harrison (West Lafayette) and a save against Frankfort. At the plate, the senior went 8-for-15 (.533) with three doubles, one home run and five RBIs.

Owen Imel, Lapel

Imel is off to a hot start on the mound and at the plate. Imel went 5-for-9 (.556) with six RBIs, three runs scored, one double and two home runs. The senior added a shutout, three-hit, six-strikeout performance against Pendleton Heights.

Logan Marsell, McCutcheon

Marsell remains on fire for McCutcheon. One week after winning player of the week, the junior went 8-for-10 (.800) with two doubles, one home run, five RBIs and six runs scored.

Micah Reinstra-Kiracofe, North Central

Reinstra-Kiracofe did not make an out over two games against Rushville. For the week, the junior went 7-for-13 (.538) with 10 runs scored, 11 RBI, a double, one stolen base and four home runs.

Konnor Scheidt, Mt. Vernon

Scheidt started a four-game hitting last week. The senior went 6-for-11 (.545) with three runs scored, seven RBIs, one double and two home runs.

Jack Shade, Noblesville

Shade went 4-for-8 (.500) with four runs scored, four RBIs, a double, triple and home run.

Ryan Williams, Heritage Christian

Williams is off to a hot start for Heritage Christian. The junior went 6-for-10 (.600) with five run scored, six RBIs, one home run and one stolen base.
