  1. If you're looking for a new home, now is a good time to look, as "the local real estate market is buzzing with activity!" Check out new homes on the market in Austin through Patch's "weekly real estate roundup, a collaboration between Patch and Redfin.com," by visiting: (Austin Patch)

  2. Capital Metro's (CapMetro) "announced it broke ground Tuesday on Broodmoor Station, a new MetroRail Red Line station in Uptown ATX," which is "a 66-acre master-planned mixed-use development near The Domain worth $3 billion." The new "station will provide reliable multi-modal transit connections throughout Austin" and "safe pathways and access" for pedestrians and cyclists. Features will include "two double-length, covered platforms for customers to wait comfortably and safely" and "more than 400 shared parking spaces for transit users."   3. In honor of its new store in Austin located at 5925 Burnet Road, the Camera Exchange is hosting its Model Shootout event on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 1-4 p.m. The event will feature "a professional model, lighting and equipment that you can use to create fun images that you can add to your portfolio."   4. Austin's Hopdoddy Burger Bar recently acquired Bryan-based Grub Burger Bar to form a new company called the HiBar Hospitality Group. The company will be led by Hopdoddy's CEO Jeff Chandler, and Grub founder and CEO Jimmy Loup will be on the board of directors. Chandler said, “We’re thrilled to join forces with Grub, a high-quality and complementary brand that we have admired for years." He added, “We have much in common, from our team-centric cultures and commitment to people, to exciting menus and a tireless focus on the guest experience." The menus offer "a range of upscale burgers built around beef and other proteins that feature creative toppings and in-house baked buns," as well as "fried chicken sandwiches and a vegan option made with Beyond meat."   5. Austin-based Miranda Bennett Studio, owned by designer Miranda Bennett, is "creating a new standard for womenswear." The local clothing brand, which uses plant-based dyes to color its apparel, is re-patterning several of its popular styles "to be size-inclusive, meaning they now fit sizes 00 to 32."
