Hometown Apparel Screen Printing and Embroidering opens at 1122 N. Memorial Drive
LANCASTER − Those looking for clothing geared toward the local area may want to visit the new Hometown Apparel Screen Printing and Embroidering at 1122 N. Memorial Drive.
Store owners Ben and Heidi Thompson sell a variety of products, like shirts, hats and more, with a local theme.
The Thompsons make their products in Chillicothe at 30 E. Main St. and that manufacturing location also has a small retail store.
"Screen printing and embroidering," Ben Thompson, a Lancaster native, said. "That's the bulk of our business. Bulk printing for businesses, schools, organizations, that sort of thing. We do online stores for places that want to sell their apparel to the community. And we have locally-themed apparel for the high schools, general Ohio designs and also like Lancaster designs."
Here are some things to know about Hometown Apparel:
Hometown Apparel has a Mount Pleasant T-shirt and plans a Fairfield County Fair T-shirt.
The Thompsons have 12 employees, including three in Lancaster. The business also has a graphic designer.
Ben Thompson said his company may eventually open more stores.
The business offers high school students a $1,000 scholarship for designing the best t-shirt each year as part of a contest.
Hometown Apparel is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday hours may be forthcoming.
