Jan. 20—Atlanta Braves shortstop and hometown hero Dansby Swanson will be the keynote speaker at the Cobb Chamber's Marquee Monday breakfast next month, the chamber has announced.

Swanson, a Cobb County native and graduate of Marietta High School, will be joined by his parents, Nancy and Cooter Swanson, along with brother Chase and sister Lindsey, "to discuss his journey from high school baseball to his current success in the majors."

Swanson first became a Braves fan favorite in 2015 when he was traded to the team from the Arizona Diamondbacks. He ascended to hero status during the 2021 World Series after hitting a tying home run in game 4, and relaying the ball for the final out of the series in Game 6.

The program will kick off at 8:45 a.m. on Feb. 14, with registration opening from now until Feb. 9. Tickets are $35 for Cobb Chamber members and $40 for non-members. Attendees may register for the event at bit.ly/3ImGRll.
