Hometown recruit among three new quarterback offers for South Carolina
Richland Northeast High School quarterback Will Wilson has been on South Carolina’s radar for a while. On Thursday, the Gamecocks offered the Class of 2025 signal caller.
South Carolina offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains visited Wilson at RNE on Tuesday.
USC is the latest school to extend an offer to Wilson, who also has offers from North Carolina State, TCU, Virginia Tech, Duke, Penn State, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, James Madison and S.C. State.
Wilson was one of three Class of 2025 quarterbacks offered by the Gamecocks on Thursday. Ryan Montgomery (Findlay, Ohio) and Deuce Knight (Lucedale, Mississippi) also announced they had picked up an offers from USC.
The Gamecocks also have offered Irmo QB AJ Brand, but they like Brand as an athlete not at quarterback.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Wilson has been a two-year starter at quarterback for his father Walt at Richland Northeast. Will Wilson threw for 1,797 yards and 14 touchdowns and also rushed for 705 yards and 14 scores last season.
