Homicide investigators seek answers after woman's body found in Victorville
Sheriff's officials continue to investigate the suspected homicidal death of a Los Angeles County woman, whose body was found in a desert field near Highway 395 in Victorville.
The body was identified as 34-year-old Vanessa Vidal of Pico Rivera, according to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday.
The Sheriff’s Department reported that at 7:31 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, deputies from the Victorville Sheriff’s Station responded to the 14900 block of Mesa Linda Avenue after a witness said a deceased person in an open desert area.
Local maps show the area east of Hwy 395 as mostly vacant, with dirt roads, and housing tracts, and single-family homes in the distance.
Deputies arrived near Hook Boulevard and Mesa Linda Avenue and located the woman’s body, which had suffered traumatic injuries, the sheriff’s report said.
The Sheriff’s Department’s Specialized Investigation – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives later identified the woman as Vidal of Pico Rivera.
The investigation is ongoing, and no other information is being released at this time, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
