Honda recalls over 330,000 cars over side-view mirror glass possibly causing accidents

A defect in certain Honda side-view mirrors has led to a mass recall of more than 330,000 vehicles in an abundance of caution, officials say.

Honda is recalling certain Pilot, Ridgeline, Passport and Odyssey vehicles as the heating pads behind both side-view mirrors may not been bonded properly causing the mirror glass to detach, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

If the glass falls, the vehicle would fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard and be at an increased risk to cause a crash.

The vehicles affected are:

2020 to 2022 Odyssey

2020 to 2022 Passport

2020 to 2021 Pilot

2020 to 2021 Ridgeline

Owners will be mailed about the recall by May 8 or can call 1-888-234-2138. Honda dealers will replace both left and right side-view mirrors free of charge, officials said.
