Honduran women and children say they were threatened with denial of asylum and jail time

On Dec. 1, 2018, a group of Honduran women and children tried to cross the border between Tijuana, Mexico, and San Diego in an attempt to seek asylum in the United States. They were met by U.S. Border Patrol agents who, they said, urged them to return to Mexico, threatening them with jail time and denial of asylum if they proceeded to cross.
