Hong Kong Demonstrators Burn Chinese Flag in Tsim Sha Tsui as Protests Continue Across City

Protests continued to escalate in Hong Kong on November 14, as students bunkered down in universities, major streets closed, and police continued to use tear gas to disperse demonstrators.

This footage, filmed by local media group Eyepress News Agency, shows a group of protesters gathering in the middle of a road in the Tsim Sha Tsui district outside of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. They light a Chinese flag on fire, cheer, and unfurl a flag of Hong Kong.

According to the South China Morning Post, November 14 saw Polytechnic University’s campus bombarded with tear gas by police. Elsewhere in the city, a 70-year-old man died in the hospital due to head injuries sustained from a brick after he was embroiled in a clash between anti- and pro-government demonstrators.
