Hong Kong schools launch revamped liberal studies course

Schools in Hong Kong have been rolling out the newly revamped liberal studies course. The programme went through an overhaul, starting with its renaming to “citizenship and social development”. The themes covered in the senior secondary school subject have also been cut from six to three, now comprising “Hong Kong under ‘One Country, Two Systems’ ”, “Our Country since Reform and Opening Up” and “Interconnectedness and Interdependence of the Contemporary World”.
