Honkai Star Rail's Silver Wolf and Bronya Rand prove Bronya is HoYoverse's favourite

With Silver Wolf now busy hacking through Honkai: Star Rail, newcomers and veterans of HoYoverse games alike can’t help but make connections between Silver Wolf and a much beloved Honkai Impact 3rd (HI3) character: Haxxor Bunny.

We’ve made that connection when talking about all the HI3 characters who’ve crossed over into Honkai: Star Rail. But here’s the thing... if you think about it, Bronya has got to be that one character that HoYoverse almost always exports into their games.

Yes, let's step into the Bronya-verse.

Bronya first debuted in HoYoverse’s third official foray into gaming, Houkai Gakuen 2 or Guns GirlZ, a zombie shooting game that became the stepping stone into the alternate reality introduced in HI3.

Bronya was the third playable character in the franchise, debuting her signature talent with technology and kuudere (or cool, aloof, and indifferent) demeanour, as well as the “Black Nucleus” battlesuit, which got exported into HI3.

After Guns GirlZ ended, Bronya continued her journey of battling against Honkai zombies in HI3, where she retains some of her kuudere qualities, but with a more nuanced and explored back story and character growth.

She plays a huge role in the game as she becomes the third Herrscher of Reason (inheriting this title from Welt Yang), and is part of the trio of main characters alongside Kiana Kaslana and Raiden Mei.

In HI3 alone, Bronya boasts the most number of battlesuits, with a whopping total of 11. I’m not saying HoYoverse is showing their character favouritism here, but the main character Kiana Kaslana only has eight in comparison.

Aside from Silver Wolf, HI3 Bronya has another expy in Honkai: Star Rail: Bronya Rand, the current Supreme Guardian of Belobog. Bronya Rand is very similar to HI3 Bronya's aged-up version from A Post Honkai Odyssey 2, but the similarities don't stop there.

In terms of how she relates to other characters, Bronya Rand is actually the closest to HI3 Bronya. HI3 Bronya is famous for her very close relationship with Seele Vollerei, and this relationship is mirrored by a budding relationship between Bronya Rand and Star Rail's aged-up version of Seele by the end of the Belobog storyline.

But while Bronya is most prominent in HoYoverse's Honkai series of games, she also seems set to appear in the developer's other big title: Genshin Impact.

To be clear, Bronya has yet to be introduced in Genshin Impact. However, eagle-eyed fans have noticed a specific mention of her name in earlier versions of Childe’s description. It's likely that Snezhnaya's Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon, will be Genshin Impact's version of Bronya.

Considering how Bronya was born in Russia in HI3, it makes a lot of sense to possibly make her into the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya, a Slavic-inspired region. While HoYoverse has yet to unveil the Tsaritsa, we can't think of anyone else other than Bronya that will be perfect for this role.

It’s hard not to think about the possibility of seeing another Bronya expy in Honkai: Star Rail.

As I’ve said before, Bronya has eleven battlesuits to choose from, and so far we’ve seen two of them in Star Rail’s universe.

In any case, the sheer number of existing Bronyas in the Honkai universe, and future versions in their HoYoverse's other games, makes it clear she is clearly a favourite of the developers.

And let's be honest, it's not at all surprising when you look at the silver-haired beauty that is every Bronya out there.
