Honor Black History Month with Hampton Roads Black Restaurant Week

Celebrate Black History Month during Hampton Roads Black Restaurant Week Monday through Feb. 27.

Participating restaurants will offer breakfast, lunch and/or dinner specials. Menus are subject to change but can be found at hamptonroadsbrw.com. The event gives people an opportunity to explore new restaurants and support their regular spots without breaking the bank.

As of Friday, only Peninsula restaurants were listed. So far though, you can plan on a $10 breakfast at Mango Mangeaux in Phoebus, then a Creole chicken sandwich with fries ($15) at ROUX Raw Bar and Grill for lunch, and drinks (15% off) and pizza ($9) at 1865 Brewing for dinner.

Other participating restaurants include:

  • Bowman’s Soul N the Wall (Hampton)

  • Charlotte’s: A Simply Panache Cafeteria (Hampton)

  • Juicing LIFE Bar (Newport News and Williamsburg)

  • Scratch Bakery (Newport News and Hampton)

  • Sunsplash Caribbean Restaurant (Hampton)

The Black Owned Restaurant Association organizes this event — now in its fifth year — to celebrate the culinary contributions of Hampton Roads’ Black-owned restaurants.
