Honors Roll In For Marblehead College Students

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Despite finishing the spring with online classes, and with some starting the new school year the same way due to the coronavirus health crisis, several Marblehead students made their marks on college campuses across the country.

Clara M. Pollard was selected for inclusion on St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for academic achievement during the Spring 2020 semester.

Pollard is a member of the Class of 2021 and is majoring in conservation biology. Pollard attended Marblehead High School.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

Louisa Gould graduated from Colgate University.

Gould, a graduate of Marblehead High School, majored in sociology at Colgate.

Gould received a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude at Colgate's 199th Commencement, which was held virtually on May 17.

The University of Alabama awarded some 1,345 degrees during its summer commencement July 31 to Aug. 2 with two of those going to Marblehead students.

Anna Godes received a Bachelor of Arts in communication & information sciences.

Craig Nolan received a Bachelor of Science in education.

Robert Simpson, has enrolled at James Madison University for the fall 2020 semester. Simpson's selected major is international affairs.

Two Marblehead students graduated from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.

Breanne Joyce graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in marketing in May.

Amy Nesbitt graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. educational studies in May as part of the Class of 2020.

Charlotte Barry and Hayli Poisson of Marblehead was named to the Dean's List at St. Lawrence University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.
