American Legion Auxiliary will place pennies on veterans' headstones at 10 a.m. at National Cemetery in Keokuk. Anyone interested in helping them should meet at the entrance gate of the old section of the cemetery.

Homemade Ice Cream Social is 3-6 p.m. at the Wever Odd Fellows Lodge, 1696 U.S. 61, also serving maidrites, ham salad, hot dogs, pies, cakes and drinks.

Burlington Area Veterans Council Memorial Day ceremony is 10:30 a.m. at Burlington Memorial Auditorium. Coffee will be served before the service, and after the service with donuts.

Moose Lodge 579, 2529 Mount Pleasant St., Memorial Day Picnic will serve chicken fish, potato salad, baked beans, and spring salad. Serving starts at 11:45 a.m., Cake walk is 1 p.m., bingo starts at 2 p.m. There will be raffles.

Nauvoo, Illinois, special Memorial Day picnic with music performances and a patriotic flag ceremony, sponsored by Nauvoo Betterment Association, is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meal cost is a freewill donation.
