BURKBURNETT – Of all the great players to come out of Burkburnett, TJ Newton put his name at the top of one historic list.
On Monday, Newton set the program record for single-game points, dropping 44 on Holliday in a 76-48 victory at Danny Nix Gym. It’s the second time Newton has scored at least 40 points this season. He scored 40 points during an overtime win against Plainview.
The Bulldogs cruised to the win, leading 17-9 after the first quarter and 41-20 at halftime.
