HOP Sierra Campus once again earns National ACC HeartCARE Center Designation

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus has once again earned the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence, Barracuda PR announced in a press release Wednesday, Feb. 28.

This recognition is the highest cardiology designation possible by the American College of Cardiology (ACC), according to the press release.

Sierra Campus is one of the only 66 hospitals in the U.S., and the only hospital in El Paso and the surrounding area, to both achieve and maintain this designation for the sixth year in a row, according to the press release.

According to the press release, hospitals receiving this designation from the ACC have demonstrated their commitment to consistent, high-quality cardiovascular care through comprehensive process improvement, disease and procedure-specific accreditation, professional excellence and community engagement.

“We are incredibly proud of our team for once again achieving this distinct honor for the sixth year in a row,” said Erik Cazares, Chief Executive Officer for The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus.  “Being recognized as only 1 of 66 hospitals in the nation achieving this honor truly shows the quality of care our team provides and our commitment to advancing cardiovascular services for this region.”

The Sierra Campus provides the latest in advanced heart care procedures and pulmonary valve replacements by offering a comprehensive cardiovascular care program from diagnosis to rehab with a Cardio Nurse Navigator to navigate patients throughout their journey and by coordinating patient’s healthcare needs and answering questions along the way, according to the press release.

Additionally, the on-site Cardiac Rehabilitation Program helps patients continue their healing after a procedure.

“Our Structural Heart Team is committed to expanding cardiovascular services for our region – countless lives have been saved and improved because of the care they provide,” said Cazares. “We are proud to be leading the way for heart care services for our region.”
