New Hope French bakery says au revoir. Check out view and price tag on riverfront property

After 27 years, the French bakery C'est La Vie will soon close, and the property in the heart of New Hope's Main Street district ― and on the banks of the Delaware River ― is now listed for sale at $2.75 million.

French patisseries Jane and Joel Vitart are hanging up the aprons at 20 S. Main St., just south of the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge. So, say "au revoir" to those baguettes.

“It was a difficult decision to make, but it’s time,” said Jane Vitart. “Every single person who hears about the sale comes here. So, it’s been sort of like a long retirement party.”

So far, no buyer has "un coup de foudre," or had love at first sight, for the property, which currently hosts a home and restaurant. C'est La Vie is still on the market, said Jane Vitart on Friday.

The listing, held by Larry Peseski with Coldwell Banker Commercial CBH, says the property boasts the "absolutely best river side location in New Hope Borough," and could be "replaced with boutique coffee/tea shop or pizzeria with outdoor seating on the river balcony. Views of the Delaware are amazing and highly desirable for patron enjoyment."
