Sep. 10—Supporters of Hope Rescue Mission gathered at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Reading Saturday to celebrate the work the organization has accomplished in the past year.

Among the achievements recognized were the opening of two new programs and a new partnership.

The mission opened its LightHouse Women and Children's Center, a place for single women and women with children to get back on their feet after experiencing the trauma of homelessness.

It also established HopeHouses, off-site transitional housing and permanent supportive housing to guests of the Mission and the LightHouse who have successfully progressed through our on-site residential programs.

Hope Rescue Mission also celebrated its partnership with Pennsylvania Adult and Teen Challenge and the opening of the newest Naaman Center in Berks County located within Hope Rescue Mission's Men's Center.

The group acknowledged longtime volunteer Jerry Broskey with the David H. Roland Award for his dedication to serving the men at Hope Rescue Mission as a life coach.

"We have had a busy year filled with exciting new changes for Hope Rescue Mission," CEO Rob Turchi said in the organization's announcement of the gala. "They all involve helping those in need to be restored to a healthy, productive life.".
