Hornell to meet Dansville in Section V Class B2 girls basketball final

The top-seeded Dansville girls basketball team will face No. 3 Hornell in the Section V Class B2 championship game.

Dansville topped No. 4 Wellsville, 51-38, in the semifinals Monday night, and Hornell edged No. 2 Mynderse, 61-56. Both games were played at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School.

Jordyn Dyring led Hornell with 15 points and added four steals, and Madelyn Moore notched 13 points and had 7 steals. Lillian Hoyt 12 points for Hornell, which improved to 14-8 this season.

Aynsley Belcher lead Dansville with 15 points and added six rebounds. Emma Allen had 11 points and 15 rebounds and Chelsie Tyler had 11 points, five rebounds and three steals for Dansville, which brings a 16-6 record into Friday’s final, which is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. at Rush-Henrietta.
