Take your favorite horror movie — dabble in some freaks, illusionists, strange creatures, comedy and death-defying acts — and you have the entertaining and R-rated “Paranormal Cirque.”

Cirque Italia will unleash its army of Paranormal Cirque performers inside their mysterious “Black and Red Big Top” in Hesperia.

The big show comes to town in December, with organizers calling the circus a fusion of theater, cabaret and the macabre, with a European flair.

The Terror Dome

An innovative horror story will play out under the “Terror Dome,” which will draw visitors into a dark place where they may find it difficult to distinguish between reality and illusion, organizers said.

A few of the Paranormal Cirque acts, performed by artists from around the world, include a mystifying “MAGIC” act, the jaw-dropping “Wheel of Death,” high-flying acrobats, tumblers, jugglers and more.

Steve Copeland, one half of the in-demand comedy clown duo of “Steve and Ryan,” told VC Reporter that the greatest thing about Paranormal Cirque is that “Halloween never has to end!”

“Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to be a circus clown. I’ve been lucky enough to be doing that as my full-time career for the last 20 years, most recently with the company Cirque Italia, which is the producer of Paranormal Cirque II, which is an outrageous, R-rated horror circus,” Copeland said. “It’s pretty cool that for my job I get to combine two things that I love: making people laugh and horror movies.”

Copeland explained that there’s traditional circus acts but with a horror twist, such as a possessed girl who flies around in the air hanging by her hair and roller-skating vampires and acrobatic zombies.

The circus show has adult language and material, and those under 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cirque Italia

Cirque Italia is a collaboration of the American dream and the tenacious leadership of one strong Italian entrepreneur, Manuel Rebecchi.

Starting with its creation in 2012, the Water Circus has advanced into traveling shows across the U.S. In 2017, Cirque Italia launched a second version of the Water Circus.

In 2018, they launched Paranormal Cirque, and in 2021, a new prison-themed show dubbed Cirque Slammer.

Rebecchi, the nephew of Moira Orfei, the world-renowned queen of the Italian circus—combined his family’s pedigree with his groundbreaking ideas to form the company.

The circus adheres to an animal-free policy.
